Summary:

Key responsibilities of a Sr. Network Engineer include the design, implementation, maintenance, and support our growing customer base. The right personality is an independent problem solver with a strong, positive attitude. The ability to learn and implement new technologies is paramount. A Sr. Network Engineer will be a leader for not only the other engineers on the team, but for the other work-centers throughout the company. The position is part of a team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet external customer objectives and SLAs.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a team lead for a small subset of Network Engineers; leading the group for network rollouts, projects, process flow, documentation, and on-going maintenance of assigned accounts
  • Support, install, maintain, troubleshoot, and coordinate the usage of, but not limited to: LAN/WAN, security, UTM, VoIP, wireless, and VPN technologies for multiple customer networks
  • Assess customer environments and make recommendations based on needs
  • Provide assessments, design deployment and implementation services of multi-vendor
    solutions, and maintain support methodologies for multiple large retail customers
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
  • Define and maintain backhaul network infrastructure utilizing multiple backbone technologies
  • Provide engineering support for network design, performance tuning, and monitoring
  • Network incident and outage escalation for Network Engineers
  • Prepares other teams (CIM, Test & Turn Up, Customer Service & Support, Config-Line, Network Ops, etc.) by designing and conducting new and existing project training programs
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Create and maintain all required network documentation including diagrams and troubleshooting methodologies using provided tools

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
  • 6+ years of networking experience in environments supporting multiple vendors and networking products
  • Experience with wireless technologies; Airtight/Mojo, Meraki, or Cisco preferred
  • Well versed with Network Engineering and support of routers, switches, network security devices, and network management systems
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (DMVPN, IPSEC, BGP, MPLS, VRF, QoS, Spanning-Tree, OSPF, 802.11, QoS, ACL’s, DHCP, TCP/IP, DNS)
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and interface with senior management
  • Proficient in the use of Visio, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • CCNP certification or equivalent experience required; Fortinet experience preferred
