Job Description


The Lead Configuration Technician will be responsible for being a working lead within our Configuration Technician Team. This team plays an important role in meeting the goals of our Implementation Department by following platform documentation and production defaults in order to properly apply customer-specific, order-specific, and hardware-specific software to network hardware. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, background in networking, and project management.



  • Provide project management and direction to configuration team, ensuring that all equipment is shipped out correctly, on time, to the correct location, for the proper client, and with the software configured correctly
  • Restore default hardware settings for security purposes based upon RMA procedures
  • Installing and configuring various network equipment across a wide range of hardware
  • Troubleshooting network hardware issues
  • Communicating production problems with Engineering and Sales departments
  • Assembling network hardware from build documentation
  • Identifying and quarantining defective hardware
  • Performing visual inspection on systems and accessory boxes
  • Perform software upgrades and configuration of all customer network equipment to their required specifications
  • Test network equipment to ensure 100% quality, and has final responsibility on all equipment shipped to customer locations
  • Ensure that minimum monthly productivity goals are met
  • Troubleshoot problems with network system configurations, including hardware and software
  • Ensure that customers receive the highest level of customer service
  • Work with Engineering department to develop and test new configuration templates
  • Work with Logistics and Client Implementation Managers to ensure scheduling and productivity goals are met
  • Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines at all times

Job Requirements


  • 3+ years networking and project management experience
  • Industry-standard project management certification nice to have, but not required
  • CCENT required, and CCNA preferred
  • Hands-on experience with network hardware and configuration
  • Experience with various operating systems and software, i.e. Microsoft Windows, MS Office, etc.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and lead a team
  • Ability to follow instruction and work within pre-established guidelines, as well as give instructions accurately, concisely, and appropriately
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with Cisco and Fortinet equipment
