Job Description


Reporting to the CIO, the Director of IT Infrastructure manages the technology team that oversees all technology infrastructure and operations support at SageNet internally. The Director of Infrastructure will lead the IT Infrastructure team collaborating with technology team members and business partners to plan and execute infrastructure projects to completion. Responsibilities include server administration and operations, asset management, storage network management, LAN/WAN, backup, DR, desktop support, and systems security. This individual will provide infrastructure thought leadership and direction for project proposals and execution. Strong infrastructure management experience and skills are essential. Candidate must be a quick study, flexible and comfortable working independently, and leading technical and non-technical teams.

The ideal candidate will have excellent relationship building, communications, influencing, and problem-solving skills, a passion for staying technically current, ability to quickly become an expert in new features and technologies, and possesses a strong vision for increasing adoption of current, planned, and future solutions.

Team management tasks may include but are not limited to assignment of projects and tasks, management of direct reports’ performance, personnel administration, training and recruiting and orientation of new employees.



  • Oversee technology operations for on-premise Infrastructure, Cloud migration strategy/management, and Desktop Support – evaluate, establish goals, measure and report results
  • Responsible for on-premise infrastructure management, data center management, DR and backup facility management, patching, internal firewalls, LAN/WAN environment, endpoint management, development of potential Cloud migration strategies, SCCM, domain administration, Active Directory migration, Office365, internal Security compliance and appliances, Desktop Support Services, etc.
  • Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management
  • Develop the strategy and implement that tactical approaches to modernize and upgrade the supporting environment in a team environment to ensure compliance, security, reporting, and efficiency
  • Responsible for resource management, delivering an efficient department operation and/or project completion through assessment of resource needs, proper assignment of personnel, delegation of responsibility and authority
  • Responsible for quality assurance on all systems/infrastructure within span of control
  • Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
  • Purchase efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software
  • Control department expense, project budgets, and capital expenditures as requested
  • Assist in building relationships with internal departments and vendors
  • Manages the IT resources of the department, i.e. training, compensation, performance management, and career planning

Job Requirements


  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience required, with Master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years of appropriate technology management experience
  • 4+ years director or Senior Manager-level experience in a medium-sized or large company
  • Experience with the following technologies: Cisco/HPE servers, VMware and Hyper-V virtualization for servers and desktops, Windows and Linux server administration, Microsoft-centric technology management technologies (Windows Server, SQL Server, SCCM, Skype for Business, IIS, etc.), SAN Storage, Cisco-centric LAN/WAN architecture, Cloud-based phone systems, IVR’s, and call center support technologies
  • Development and execution of strategy in a team/collaborative environment, and coordination of resources to execute stable operations and technology strategy
  • Ability to build constructive relationships, resolve conflicts, and suggest appropriate solutions
  • Excellent communications, organizational, writing, presenting, and customer service skills
  • Must stay current on the rapidly changing technology landscape and have a vision for the future
  • Project management background and experience is a must
  • Must be able to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints
  • ITILv3 knowledge or certification desired
  • Ability to evaluate current IT infrastructure and identify technologies and projects to improve security, scalability, and reliability of the overall environment
  • Analytical thinking ability, diplomacy, and professionalism are required
  • Excellent management skills – principles and people, as well as knowledge and ability to motivate personnel to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth in a dynamic environment
  • Strong knowledge of information security practices, regulations, policy, and technology best practices
  • Ability to develop policy/procedure documentation and audit responses as required
  • Preferred certifications: ITILv3 Foundations
